Around 400 government employees joined the CSCROVI tree-planting activity dubbed as “Pag-Ulikid sa Dunang Manggad” held on October 11, 2022 at Brgy. Badiangan, Ajuy, Iloilo.
The region-wide tree planting activity spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region VI and the Iloilo Provincial Government, gathered 35 national and local government agencies in Western Visayas.
Gracing the activity were Ajuy Municipal Mayor, Jett C. Roxas, Acting Vice Mayor Loida J. Espinosa, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO), Atty. Cesar Emanuelle P. Buyco and Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI (CSC RO VI) Regional Director, Nelson G. Sarmiento. Likewise, joining the activity were the heads of the participating agencies and their representatives.
Mayor Roxas and Acting Vice Mayor Espinosa welcomed all the participants of the said activity. In his speech, Mayor Roxas shared that the tree-planting activity came in time with their celebration of the 15th Hayashi Day, commemorating the municipality’s harmonious partnership with the government of Japan.
In his message, Director Sarmiento, encouraged everyone to be a responsible member of the community by raising awareness among government workers on corporate social responsibility advocacies that are geared towards nature restoration and preservation.
PENRO Buyco delivered the congratulatory message of Iloilo Provincial Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr. to the Municipal Government of Ajuy and the Civil Service Commission, for the success of the activity.

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI (CSC RO VI) is pleased to announce the conduct of the 2022 Conversations with Local Executives (CLE) at the Iloilo Convention Center, Megaworld Boulevard, Mandurriao, Iloilo City on August 30-31, 2022.
The CLE is open to all Local Chief Executives, Members of the Sangunnian, Department Heads and Human Resource Management practitioners in the local government units (LGUs). It aims to guide local government officials on their powers, duties and responsibilities in human resource management and other Civil Service matters.
Topics on administrative authority as elective officials, privileges as civil servants, and breakthroughs and best practices in local governance, as well as latest issuances or rulings of the Commission on Audit (COA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will be discussed. Participants will likewise get to meet and interface with the newly appointed CSC Chair, Atty. Karlo Alexei B. Nograles.

A total of 614 participants turned up for the 2022 Regional HR Summit organized by the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI on April 27, 2022 at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.
Participants came from the six provinces of Region VI namely, Aklan (52), Antique (101), Capiz (63), Guimaras (74), Iloilo (172), and Negros Occidental (152).
CSC RO VI Regional Director Nelson G. Sarmiento welcomed all the delegates to the Summit. In his message, he expressed the Office’s gratitude to all the participants and guests for partaking in the first face-to-face event of the Regional Office after two years. He emphasized the need to future-proof the government workforce through skills and knowledge-building, particularly in the four core HR systems.
The first day was graced by virtual messages from Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Trenas, Iloilo Provincial Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr. In a keynote speech from CSC Chairperson Karlo A.B. Nograles, he highlighted the importance of advancing the field of HR in response to the challenges in the new normal such that, “Ang Lingkod Bayani dapat handa sa hamon ng makabagong panahon.”
A talk on the Latest Issuance and Decisions on Civil Service Matters and EODB-EGSD was given by CSC Assistant Commissioner Ariel G. Ronquillo. His talk included cases and jurisprudence relevant to HR management like Jurisdiction, Due Process, Offenses, Backwages, Dropping from the Rolls, Effect of Dismissal from the Service, and Appointment.
Also present during the Summit are CSC RO VII Regional Director Carlos P. Evangelista, CSC RO VI Assistant Regional Director Atty. Erna T. Elizan, and heads of the CSC Field Offices in Region VI.
The Summit is a continuing professional education for HR managers and leaders to capacitate them in their role as CSC’s partner in the implementation of the Commission’s programs and policies. It is in response to the call of Chairperson Nograles to modernize public service delivery and professionalize the civil service, with emphasis on empowering civil servants through digital solutions.
This event will run until April 29, 2022 with subject matter experts in the field of service delivery, information technology, psychology and values formation.

The Civil Service Commission Region VI (CSC RO VI), in coordination with the Municipal Government of Numancia, Aklan, awarded the prizes to Mr. John L. Alcazarin, 2021 Outstanding Government Worker under the Honor Awards Program (HAP), on March 9, 2022 at Camansi Sur, Numancia, Aklan.
Director IV Nelson G. Sarmiento of CSC RO VI and Numancia Municipal Mayor Jeserel T. Templonuevo led the awarding of prizes to Mr. Alcazarin for winning the 2021 Dangal ng Bayan Award. Also present during the ceremony were CSC RO VI Director III Atty. Erna T. Elizan, CSC FO-Aklan Director II Leo F. Jamorin, and SB Members of LGU Numancia.
As a Dangal ng Bayan awardee, Alcazarin received a trophy designed by the late National Artist for Sculpture Napoleon V. Abueva, a gold-gilded medallion handcrafted by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and a cash reward of Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (P200,000.00). He is also entitled to an automatic promotion to the next higher position or an increase in salary to the next highest salary grade should there be no vacant position available.
In his message, Director Sarmiento congratulated LGU-Numancia for their first nomination that won the 2021 Search for Outstanding Government Workers. He further encouraged everyone to be inspired by the award conferred to Alcazarin and to continue to send in more nominations to recognize more exemplary government workers. He proudly shared that Region 6 is among the top regions in terms of number of nominations and on a yearly basis, has been consistent in producing national winners in the Search.
The intimate awarding ceremony was held in the presence of all the Sangguiang Bayan members and several department heads of LGU-Numancia, members of Bantay Dagat and Department of Agriculture (DA), as well as Alcazarin’s family.
The Search for Outstanding Government Workers is an annual undertaking of the CSC to recognize government workers who exemplified outstanding performance and inspired others of their dedication and commitment to provide quality and excellent public service.

Application Requirements:
1. Fully accomplished application form (CS Form No. 100 Revised September 2016).
Application forms are available at the CSC Regional/Field Office or may be downloaded at http://bit.ly/CSForm100rev2016
The spaces for “Signature of Applicant” and “Right Thumbmark” on the form should be left blank. These shall be accomplished in the presence of the CSC processor.
Four (4) copies of identical valid ID pictures; Philippine passport size (4.5cm x 3.5cm or 1.78 inches by 1.4 inches)
Original photo copy of any valid ID containing Applicant’s clear picture, date of birth signature and signature of Authorized Head of the issuing agency as prescribed in CSC MC No. 2, s. 2018.List of valid IDs may be found at http://bit.ly/acceptableIDs
P500.00 examination fee.
Acceptance of Applications:
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the safety of both applicants and CSC RO VI personnel, acceptance of applications for the CSE-PPT will be subject to the following conditions:
Acceptance of applications will be on a first-come, first-served basis;
Preference will be given to residents of the provincial jurisdiction of the CSC Field Office;
Observance of minimum health protocols will be strictly enforced. Those with fever and/or flu-like symptoms will be advised to go home and seek immediate medical attention.
To ensure physical distancing, only exam applicants will be allowed in the venue. Companions will be allowed only for clients with special needs (PWDs, senior citizens, pregnant women.)
Pursuant to the Examination Guidelines of the Commission, the acceptance of applications from pregnant women shall be restricted/limited to those who would be, at most, 6 months pregnant on examination day in view of the straining and risky examination activities.
For contact tracing purposes, the StaySafe.PH or other LGU-initiated digital contact tracing application, shall be utilized. Applicants are advised to coordinate with their respective Field Offices regarding the matter.
