The Civil Service Commission Regional Office IV spearheads the conduct of the 2017 Government Choral Competition.
Said competition is one of the activities lined up for the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme, “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani.” The Choral Competition aims to showcase musical creativity of government employees, promote Filipino culture and arts through choral singing, and inculcate in the minds of public servants a culture of excellence in public service.
A choir can have a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 30 members, inclusive of one conductor and one accompanist. All singers must belong to one government agency and must be regular employees included in the agency’s plantilla of personnel regardless of status of appointment, including appointive and elective officials. The conductor and accompanist need not be government employees.
The first phase of the competition will be the selection of semi-finalists per cluster from April 10 to June 9, 2017 (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and National Capital Region). The second phase will be the grand finals on September 20, 2017 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Interested participants are required to register and submit the complete requirements to the designated regional centers not later than June 9, 2017. CSC Regional Office VI serves as Regional Office-in-charge for Visayas area.
